Tears flooded down the mans cheeks in front of Charles and with disgust he dropped the scalpel, onto the side table with a resounding clunk. He hated when they broke this easy! Now he would cry and winge, and while it was beautiful on women he toyed with men for the stubborn set of their teeth and the hard suffering in their eye. He snatched up the syringe and removed a sample of the mans blood before moving over to the door and knocking three times. It swung open easily the computer recognizing the code and the shape of his fist. It closed behind him with a satisfying thud and he knew the lights would flicker off soon leaving the man to cower in the dark. A satisfied smile slipped over his lips at that thought and he moved into the laboratory.
He nodded calmly at a few of the other scientists around him and sent a flirtatious smile to two who he had been working on without either of their knowledge of the other. He enjoyed the chase and if one of them caved to soon and he lost sport then at least he had another stubborn one to fall back on. He loved walking past the female scientists as they warned each other about his ways, and then all fell for him eventually after carefully placed words and looks. He had been with enough people to scientifically categorize them into seduction ways and be right 99% of the time. Slipping into the office he shared with a nervously straight man, who he knew he could seduce but didn't want to spoil their mood, and walked to the D.N.A. testing machine. He laughed mentally as he slipped the blood into a separating vat to separate the cells and allowed the process to take over with a second nature to him.
There was nothing that linked the D.N.A. of the survivors of the disease and this he knew all to well. He had tested every gene type, even venturing slightly into the junk D.N.A. but so far nothing infact this rots was simply a mandatory annoyance until he became bored with the torture and settled himself into actually caring about the fate of the human race. Sure he wanted the glory that would come with a cure, but he knew that none of the others were even close to a cure either so he was in no rush. He watched calmly as "Inconclusive" flashed across the screen. Oh yes, he knew that the cure probably lay in the reaction of the person to the disease rather then the D.N.A., but who was he to stop something that had such an interesting effect on the people around him.
