ADRIAN WOLFSTORMShattered hopes and ends of dreams, not everything is as it seems
A soft ripple over the waters surface spreading from the stones point of impact. Black pelted hybrid raised his head curiously to watch his masters unusual antics. Fangs tongue loll'd out the corner of his mouth as he returned his head to its resting place on a mossy rock. What had disturbed his repose?
Adrian sat on a stump overlooking the pool, shirt off skimming stones. More to deal with his own frustration then anything. He'd almost returned to the town before his own common sense had told him that it wasn't wise to do so. Sometimes he grew lonely.
Slowly he pushed his mass of matted hair back looking around quietly. As he expected nearby was some ducks, perched on a branch was a kingfisher, and some fish were near where he'd settled himself. If he looked closely to the edge of the forest there were also some deer grazing unafraid.
This was why he couldn't go back to the town. It'd be too noticeable there. Animals unafraid of a human, when by rights they should be scared? While town animals weren't as wild as their wild counterparts out here, they still retained some respect and fear of humans. It would bring attention to him straight away. So instead he stayed out here, alone. In an odd way, he liked it.
Fang's head twisted the animals suddenly scattering. A low growled bark came from the part wolfs maw causing Adrian to turn to hunt for his shirt and prepare to go. He couldn't risk being found, no matter how inviting the idea of cleaning his clothing, and himself was.

I have faith, but do you? Ember Grayson Every step she took hurt, Ember had been stubbornly walking from the town next to Magoran, but with most of the little towns deserted it had been a three day walk with little food to sustain her and water scarce. She was dirty, aching and so hungry she could barely see in front of her. She wrapped her arms around her small body and staved off a grumble of hunger that seemed as loud as thunder to her. Hunting was promising but with nothing as bait she was....well... up the creek without a paddle. She wished severely for somewhere to sit down , but another part of her rebelled against the idea. Anytime not spent traveling was wasted time, who knows where her son would be then. Why couldn't they leave him alone, her mind raged, he was just an innocent little boy, he hadn't caught the disease at all, and yet he had been moved from place to place for six months now. Sometimes he wasn't even beside water so she couldn't track him, and for three months he had been in a dingy room with only a sink as a source of water and she hadn't been able to see enough in order to track his location. They had been the longest months of her life, sitting, waiting, and taking up a job as a waitress to pass the time and checking every free pool until he had been moved and his crossing a nearby lake had set her off again.
Her trail had gone cold a few days before this but she had last seen him in Magoran and she would travel to there, but a quick check of herself revealed that she might need to get another job there. Her shoes were worn down and she mused that by now she should of had the sense to buy a pair of hiking shoes, her shoes were grotty and slightly torn on one side and even her trusty red jumper was showing signs of wear and tear. Using her power was the only way to find him, but it was addictive, the ability to see all and hear all not lost on her mind. Even now she could tell that there was a waterfall and decent sized river near here and she was drawn to go and look in.
The thought made her pause as she glanced down at her clothes, she would pull over, get a drink, rest and scry him again. They possibility of any change was slim but it would be a comfort to know she had tried. Moving off the dirt-track road, that she took to avoid detection. She moved in the direction of the water excitement filling her at the thought of a wash, a chance to rest her feet and so much more. The forest was deep but she wasn't too worried about it, her travels had revealed that Forests were not as intimidating. Nothing would hurt her within them the same way the back-roads of towns would, and she found herself at ease among the chirping of small birds. Even if they were terrified of her and scattered if she got too close. The city pigeons she had enjoyed watching seemed so pathetic in comparison.
Moving towards the river she began to pick up pace as she heard it and was soon running as fast as she could through the pain. She practically fell through the last of the trees and felt slightly guilty for scattering the animals, before a growling stopped her int her tracks. Twisting she glanced at a large black wolf and froze. He was beautiful no doubt, but she knew he could kill her in a second. Dropping to her knees she would have tried to look submissive by bowing before she noticed the man behind him, of her as the case may be. She glanced nervously between the man and wolf before she began to speak in a nervous garble. "Sorry! I just needed to wash and fix my clothes I didn't mean to disturb you, I could move further down the river if you want? Since it looks like you also was to bathe." She bit her lip to cut off the ramble and stared at the floor, fighting against the pull that tried to force her to go to the water and look in. She would have to be so careful, because she didn't know what she looked like while she was scrying and that could be a giveaway that she had powers.
